It’s only a few weeks away, and we’re busy getting ready for the 4th Annual Padma party.  This year it’s at Fuego Bistro & Pizzaria in Park City on Friday, December 4th.  Don’t forget to get your raffle tickets — you could win a roundtrip ticket for 2 to anywhere in the continental U.S.!  Contact Luke if you have any questions.

We’re pleased to announce some new additions to the Padma website.  Most notably, a page dedicated to our Director of Operations in Nepal, the one and only Anjit Bista!  You can also find his contact info on our Contact page. 2009 is rapidly coming to a close, thank you everyone for helping make another year at Padma a success, and continuing to give hope to our kids in Nepal.

We added some new stuff to the website.  I changed the Photo Album to be prettier, and we’ve got a new project to help support a monastery in Tibet.  Each project now has its’ own page, which you can access from the Current Projects page or the dropdown menu under Current Projects.  Be sure to check out the new Tibetan Nun Project to find out the details of the latest organization Padma is helping support.

Just got back from the 10th annual fundraiser at the Jeremy that Padma was invited to.  I think we did really well.  One of Pasang’s tapestries sold for over $2000!  I’m hoping this brings a lot more attention to the organization and to the website, which means I’ve got my work cut out for me!

In anticipation, I’m planning on introducing some new features.  One of them will be a subscription option to this blog, so subscribers can get email updates — I’m hoping we can get the newsletter posted on the blog (as well as smaller updates in between), to keep everyone informed about what’s going on in Padma.  I’ve also got some bigger ideas planned that are top secret, but will be revealed soon.  Stay tuned!

You are invited to a fundraiser/dinner to benefit
Padma.  The event is on September 5th from
6pm-midnight at the Jeremy Country Club in Park City.
$40 at the door gets you dinner and drinks all night.
There will also be a silent and live auction with over
100 items up for bid.  All donations will be split
between Padma and two other organizations.  If you’re

Luke’s on the road. Like, on the road in the Kerouac sense. He’s taking the month off to “Hitchhike for Padma.” He’s going to be sending in notes from on the road to post on this road journal. We hope to keep this blog maintained, as well, and put up new and exciting events in the Padma world. Check back soon.
