Tibetan Nuns

Tibetan Buddhist Nun Project:

Ngoedrub Charbeb Ling is a Tibetan Buddhist meditation center on the outskirts of Kathmandu near the sacred Swayambhu mountain. Khenpo Konchok Monlam Rinpoche, or Khenpo KoMo as he’s known, established this spiritual center to teach and support Buddhist nuns dedicating their lives to spiritual realization and altruistic action. Funding for center is entirely dependent on Khenpo’s KoMo’s ability to fundraise while running the center, as well as being the head of several Buddhist centers around the world.

In the spring of 2012 Khenpo KoMo will guide Ngoedrub Charbeb Ling’s 5th round of 3 year retreatants. Khenpo uses the instructions laid out by famed 20th century Tibetan saint Khenpo Ngakchung in guiding the retreatants through the meditative yogic practices of the Longchen Nyingtik cycle of Dzogchen teachings from within the Nyingma School of Tibetan Buddhism. Khenpo KoMo himself has spent many years in retreat including an extended 5 year retreat in a cave above Tso Pema, the sacred lake and holy place of Guru Rinpoche located in Himachal Pradesh, India.

Padma is committed to finding sponsors for each of the 5 nuns participating in the next round of 3 year retreat. Sponsoring a nun requires the small sum of $30/month. Your donation will go to feed, house and pay for prayer texts and robes. Ritual prayer practices can also be performed upon request for the recently deceased, to clear obstacles from one’s life or for the beneficial outcomes of one’s plans or projects.

To sponsor one of these nuns go to our donation page and signup as a $30/month sponsor. For more information or if you have any questions email Luke Hanley at luke@padmanepal.org.
